The search for a different kind of travel.

Astrid Clements, an adventurous and accomplished businesswoman from Baton Rouge, Louisiana has been traveling the world as a solo traveler for decades. Passionate about authentic, culturally enriching experiences, Clements found most tours offered by major travel companies to be too surface level. After all, there’s so much more to a place than famous landmarks! When she did discover a pre-packaged luxury tour that piqued her interest, it almost always came with the infamous “single supplement” surcharge which inevitably pushed the price outside of her budget.

Determined to find a way to not only have the meaningful, cultural experience she craved, but to travel in luxury and style for a reasonable price, Clements spent years refining her travel methods. Eventually she developed a signature style, something she likes to call affordable luxury solo travel.

It wasn’t before long that friends and family began to notice that Clements had an affinity for crafting trips that were fun, unique, culturally enriching, luxury in style, and reasonably priced, leading to them to request she share her travel secrets.

In response, Clements decided to create a blog and podcast to share her tips on traveling in affordable luxury as a solo traveler. Eventually however, Clements began to recognize that many solo travelers weren’t necessarily interested in traveling entire alone.

Many “solo” travelers are in fact interested in traveling with like-minded peers, but often have difficulty finding them. Many times, their spouses aren’t interested in travel, or their friends and family can’t find the time. Many of them find themselves searching for tours to join and stumble upon familiar roadblocks such as groups that are too large, trips that are too canned, and of course that dreaded single supplement.

Finally, heeding the advice of a close friend and fellow traveler, Clements and her team decided to create a travel club designed to remedy the travel woes faced by many solo travelers.

Thus, the AstridTravel Club was born.

In 2019, the AstridTravel Club was officially launched. Featuring an array of both international and domestic trips designed in the likeness of Clements’ own travels, the club is designed to enable other travelers to achieve their affordable luxury travel goals.

All AstridTravel Club trips are designed for small groups of travelers, and each trip features a unique and exciting itinerary, ample leisure time, private luxury accommodations, and no single supplement.
